The biggest weekend of the summer has always been our History Weekend, held on the August long weekend. Evening programs, walks, croquet relay, old-fashioned fun and games, boat building bee and regatta, music by Peter Solmes, and a history play are all featured. Presqu'ile has been a draw for those seeking fun and recreation for over 100 years and we celebrate that fact with a chance for everyone to get involved.
We are particularly pleased to have the ENSS Re-enacting Club and friends here again.
Each year they present a number of events which may include:
- Changing of the Guard.
- War of 1812 Mini-Muster at the Lighthouse Centre.
- and the battle scene, The War of 1812 Demonstration, on Sunday, on the field west of the Amphitheatre - with up to 12 muskets firing in volley.
- a shooting competition
The climax of the weekend was Sunday night. When there is entertainment at the amphitheatre. Usually followed by a Ghost Walk where spirits from the past appear to tell their stories
The Nature Centre, Lighthouse Interpretive Centre, and The Friends' Gift Shop were all open normal summer hours during this weekend.
