As most of you probably know the Waterfowl Weekend is coming up March 19-20.

Viewing conditions are looking good and there are lots of ducks in the bay right now. In addition to knowledgeable volunteers stationed at the viewing locations to help you see and identify ducks we will have other things going on at the Lighthouse Centre.

There are duck displays and ducky kid's activities as well as our normal displays. The Friends Lighthouse Gift Shop will be open and they will have snacks and warm drinks for sale as well as a BBQ from 11:00 am.

Dave Richards, the Bushnell Representative, will also be there to showcase their optical equipment and answer any questions you might have about binoculars and telescopes.

We will be going from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and admission to the Park is $8/vehicle ? this will go towards the Friends' fund-raising. (2010 and 2011 season passes will of course be honoured if you have them. 2011 season passes can be purchased this weekend only from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the main Park Office - or you can purchase them at the main Park Office during the week between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm).

So hope to see you in the Park this weekend ? it really is a cool sight to see all those ducks coming back.

Our next event will be over the May Long Weekend (May 21-22) when we welcome the smaller birds back in our Warblers and Whimbrels Weekend.
