BHSC presents Community Health Grants

Brighton Health Services Centre (BHSC) present Community Health Grants

At its Annual General Meeting, held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, the Board of Directors of the BHSC presented a Grant of $3000 to the Friends of Presqu'ile.

The BHSC Board of Directors created the Community Health Grants in 2008 as a means of increasing the community's capacity for health and wellness services.

With support from this Grant program in 2011, the Friends were able to successfully initiate the Kids ?n Nature Summer Day Camp that saw children, aged 8 to 11, enjoy an outdoor educational experience, learning from an environmental curriculum delivered by an accredited teacher/naturalist.

This year's Grant will help towards the costs associated with our 2012 Summer Day Camp such as: the salaries of the Schools Interpreter and Camp Leader and also providing for a qualified Lifeguard as necessary; teaching aids and supplies required to deliver the programs; and the hire of the school bus to transport the children from Brighton Community Centre into the Park.

Dates for our 2012 camps are July 16 to 20, and August 13 to 17. For more information and registrations forms, please call 613 475 1688, ext 3.
