Tower 2 rises from the Marsh
No, it's not woodpeckers you hear.  The volunteers are at it again, this time building Tower 2.

Across the channel from Audrey's Place, where the old tower stood, our second observation tower is under construction.  It is being built on screw anchor foundations which go down over 14 metres (forty feet) into the marsh. It will be similar in size to Tower 1, at the entrance to the boardwalk.

The boardwalk remains open while construction takes place, and in this hot weather the volunteers are more than happy to take five minutes and chat to you about the building project.

It is hoped to complete the tower by the end of August. There will be only a few remaining jobs to complete the whole project, once the water levels drop in November.
