Garage to Greatness: Building Nature's Classroom

Nature Centre Renovation Campaign

We are excited to share news about our big project for 2025. We’ve launched our "Garage to Greatness: Building Nature’s Classroom" project. Part of the project is to refresh the Nature Centre with some cosmetic improvements, and we plan to transform the old ‘Yellow House’ garage into a four-season learning centre. We will completely renovate the space and install new audio-visual equipment.

The classroom will accommodate 20-25 students. In the past, lack of space has limited the park's ability to run Discovery programming in the winter months, or anytime the weather is inclement, but this initiative will solve that problem. You may be aware that we also have a school bus bursary program that assists schools in renting buses for transportation to the park. Together, these initiatives will allow more students to learn about the environment, conservation, and local history. In addition the room can also serve as a meeting room for other events and adult education classes.

Our volunteers have already started tearing down the walls in the Nature Centre garage, but we need funding to rebuild. That's where you come in!  To support this project, please donate via our website by clicking here. In return, you will receive a tax receipt from CanadaHelps and the reward of knowing you have furthered the future of nature education for local youth.

We are excited to partner with the park to Build Nature’s Classroom – from Garage to Greatness! We hope you can help us by supporting our fundraising campaign.
